A little later after the night comes in the very beginning, when rubble and ripped mattresses, scattered keys and passports, voodoo icons onto the wall and enigmatic room numbers were placed throughout.
Nine artists have been invited to interpret the objects and testimonies from the Gare des Mines building, to draw on the clandestine, underworld, spiritual and festive history of the place. They created alternative and possible stories, calling distant lands, private anecdotes and legends.
The exhibition is simultaneously archive and omen, a place of coexistence, transfer and crossing where humans and energies flows move. It claims the power of a mystical approach to the world and synchronicities against the impediment situations; the power of belief in the unknown and impalpable forces as a shape and rhetoric matrix.
Paintings, sculptures, photographs, video, documents and sound recording are all acts of interpretation and healing of an invisible ritual.
